At Bickerstaff Trees, we are especially proud of our wreaths and garland products. Our source of pride comes from the attention to detail that we put into producing the wreaths and garland that we offer to our customers. The commitment to quality begins with carefully sorting through the raw materials that we receive in order to eliminate any fraser fir, white pine or boxwood material that has a poor appearance or is the wrong size. Felix handles most of this very laborious task, and his years of experience show through as he allows only the very best material to proceed into the production lines. From there, our workers produce wreaths and garland under the careful direction of Mama Ruth who insists on only the best. Many wreaths are made over and rolls of garland are started again because Mama Ruth says, "It's not going out the door looking like that!" After production, our wreaths and garland are stored in stands of mature pine timber (see picture this page) or in shade cloth covered areas until shipment. By using natural resources such as the pine timber stands, we are able to avoid the capital costs and maintenance costs associated with constructing and maintaining refrigerated facilities for storage. This helps keep our production costs down and results in a savings that we can pass on to our customers. Also, storage in this manner is environmentally friendly and still works in the event of power failures. Attention to detail is the key to our quality wreaths and garland products, and it is this attention to detail that keeps our customers coming back year after year.
